“This… I dedicated it to my mother. Her name starts with ‘A’. So, I didn’t really want to tell everyone,” Sooryavanshi said in the clip. He added that the decision to keep it private was deliberate, even when he was pressed for a direct answer after the game.
When asked whether it was “a personal matter,” the batter responded that it wasn’t something he viewed as an issue or a topic to be discussed. Instead, he said he simply didn’t want it to become a big storyline—because he wants to keep doing it. “But… it was actually for her,” he concluded.
The “A” celebration, however, had initially been treated as something routine. Earlier, presenter Murali Kartik asked Sooryavanshi about the meaning behind the gesture, and the youngster replied that it carried no particular message.
