That same injury is the reason Rohit has been ruled out of the Punjab Kings match as well. Mumbai’s captaincy planning may now have to account for the possibility of a lengthier layoff, after the team’s leadership painted a worrying picture regarding his recovery.

Mumbai Indians’ side features Quinton de Kock as wicketkeeper, with Ryan Rickelton, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya (captain), Sherfane Rutherford, Naman Dhir, Mayank Rawat, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Jasprit Bumrah making up the playing XI.
