Australia Return to Bangladesh After 15 Years for ODI Series in April

Australia are set to tour Bangladesh for their opening bilateral men’s ODI assignment in the country after a 15-year gap, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board confirming the schedule on Friday, April 17. The last time Australia played an ODI series in Bangladesh was in 2011, and this upcoming trip is designed to include both limited-overs formats, starting with three One-Day Internationals before moving into three T20 Internationals.

  1. Australia’s tour begins with their arrival in Bangladesh on June 5.
  2. The ODI leg is planned for June 9, June 11 and June 14.
  3. The T20I series follows on June 17, June 19 and June 21.
  4. Venues for the matches have not been finalised yet.

In the lead-up to Australia’s visit, Bangladesh will also stage a separate marquee home assignment, hosting Pakistan for a two-match Test series in May. That series forms part of the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship cycle, adding extra weight to the fixtures for both sides.

  1. Pakistan’s Test squad is due to arrive in Dhaka on May 3.
  2. The first Test starts in Dhaka on May 8 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
  3. The second Test begins on May 16 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
