Priyansh Arya & Cooper Connolly Blast 182-Run PBKS Stand vs LSG

Punjab Kings (PBKS) were in ruthless mood in IPL 2026 as Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly struck a destructive partnership against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday in New Chandigarh. Their 182-run stand not only powered PBKS to a record-setting total in the ongoing season, but also pushed the franchise’s tally of 150-plus partnerships to a remarkable third such occasion in IPL history.

Record-breaking 150-plus partnerships for PBKS

The Arya–Connolly alliance etched yet another milestone into PBKS’ IPL record books, extending the team’s list of 150-plus stands to three. PBKS’ highest partnership in IPL remains 206 runs, compiled by Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh against RCB back in 2011. That mark is followed by KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal’s 183 against RR in 2020.

  • PBKS’ top IPL partnership: 206 runs (Adam Gilchrist & Shaun Marsh) vs RCB, 2011
  • Next best: 183 runs (KL Rahul & Mayank Agarwal) vs RR, 2020
  • Latest addition: 182-run stand (Priyansh Arya & Cooper Connolly) vs LSG in 2026

How the partnership shaped the batting stand

Beyond the sheer number of runs, the stand also climbed into PBKS’ high-run-rate list for 100-plus partnerships. The biggest highlight in that category is David Miller and R Sathish’s 130* stand in 2013, which came at a run-rate of 15.91. The Arya–Connolly partnership, while not eclipsing that record, still arrived with serious momentum at a run-rate of 13.65.

The innings also carried the same intensity PBKS have shown in other notable 100-plus efforts, including aggressive contributions from Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma, and from Deepak Hooda and KL Rahul.

  • Top PBKS 100-plus run-rate: 130* (David Miller & R Sathish), 15.91, 2013
  • Arya–Connolly run-rate for the 182 stand: 13.65

PBKS post 254/7 as Arya and Connolly fire

PBKS put together a record-breaking batting display on Saturday in IPL 2026 at Mullanpur, posting 254/7 against LSG. The foundation was laid by half-centuries from Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly, with both batters delivering at a fast clip throughout their time at the crease.

Arya produced a standout knock of 93 off 37 balls, striking four fours and nine sixes. Connolly supported with 87 off 46 deliveries, finding the boundary eight times with the bat and clearing the ropes seven times.

LSG’s chase plans disrupted after early loss

LSG won the toss and chose to bowl first. PBKS suffered an early setback when Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed early in the innings. From there, Arya and Connolly took control, stitching a 182-run stand that dismantled the LSG bowling attack—Arya made 93 off 37 (four fours, nine sixes) and Connolly struck 87 off 46 (eight fours, seven sixes).

Although LSG showed a better spell towards the end in terms of wickets, PBKS still reached 254/7 in their 20 overs, helped by finishing bursts from Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh.

  • PBKS total: 254/7 in 20 overs
  • LSG chose to bowl after winning the toss
  • Early wicket: Prabhsimran Singh out early
  • Key stand: 182 runs between Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly
  • Late contributions: Marcus Stoinis 29* (16 balls, two fours, two sixes); Shashank Singh 17* (six balls, four and six)
