Shashank Singh will miss Punjab Kings’ upcoming encounter against Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. The match is set to be played as part of Match 40 of the IPL season, with both sides entering the contest as teams positioned among the top four.
When the toss was taken, Riyan Parag won the coin flip and chose to put Rajasthan Royals in the field first. Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer then addressed the situation around Shashank’s non-selection, describing it as a forced adjustment to the XI without outlining the precise cause.
“We would have liked to bowl first as well,” Iyer said. “The pitch has been covered for the last few days due to the weather. Everyone has been proactive, whether we’re batting first or chasing. We’ve got one forced change: Suryansh comes in for Shashank. Also, Lockie comes in for Xavier.”
