Arjun Tendulkar Lands Big Bid in T20 Mumbai League, Jumps 400%

With limited opportunities in the Indian Premier League (IPL) so far, Arjun Tendulkar has struck a major deal in the T20 Mumbai League auction, drawing one of the biggest bids on Saturday. The son of batting great Sachin Tendulkar, who is yet to feature for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2026 season, was picked up by ARCS Andheri for Rs 10 lakh—an eye-catching jump of 400% over his starting price of Rs 2 lakh. Under the agreement, Arjun will receive 33.3% of the earnings he makes through his IPL contract with LSG.

How Arjun Tendulkar’s auction and IPL pathway fell into place

  1. Arjun Tendulkar, still awaiting his IPL 2026 playing opportunity for Lucknow Super Giants, entered the T20 Mumbai League auction and attracted a top-end bid.
  2. ARCS Andheri secured him for Rs 10 lakh, lifting his figure by 400% from the Rs 2 lakh base price.
  3. The contract structure means Arjun’s share will work out to 33.3% of what he earns from his Lucknow Super Giants IPL salary.
  4. He is set to make his debut in the competition after being declared eligible for the tournament, despite having turned out for different state associations during the previous season.
  5. In recent seasons, Arjun played for Goa after moving away from Mumbai.
  6. The BCCI cleared him to take part in the league because he had not played any state-level league matches in the previous 12 months.
  7. The BCCI stated that, to keep players fresh and focused, each cricketer is allowed to compete on only one officially recognised cricket league outside the IPL during a rolling 12-month window starting from the end of the tournament they last played.
  8. An example in the BCCI guidance explained that if a player took part in a Twenty20 event organised by a State Association that ended on August 31, 2024, they would be barred from playing in another Twenty20 tournament run by a different State Association until September 1, 2025.
  9. Arjun joined Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2026 season after previously being with Mumbai Indians.
  10. Since joining LSG, he has been working closely with the coaching staff and senior players to sharpen his skills.
  11. Having shown his all-round ability in Goa’s domestic circuit, Arjun’s recent performances in the nets have pointed to readiness for the intensity and pressure of the IPL.
