Delhi Capitals fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has heaped praise on the franchise’s bowling group, pointing to the influence of Mukesh Kumar and the impact made by Lungi Ngidi. Speaking to reporters, Jamieson said the unit’s mindset—especially their intent with the new ball during the power-play—has been central to controlling the early stages and shaping how the rest of the innings unfolds. “They’ve been outstanding. Mukesh has led really well, Lungi has been excellent, and others have contributed too. That early intent with the ball sets the tone for the rest of the innings,” Jamieson said.
Jamieson’s comments came after Delhi Capitals registered a six-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday. The win marked DC’s second successive triumph in the IPL 2026 season, with Jamieson describing his side’s bowling and match planning as key elements behind the result.
The New Zealand pacer also discussed how bowlers can still succeed with specific length choices on Indian wickets. He stressed that good hard lengths and back-of-a-length deliveries can remain dangerous, particularly on tracks that offer differences in pace or bounce. At the same time, he noted that on flatter surfaces, those same lengths can become easier for batters to hit, which means quick adjustments are essential. “There’s still a place for hard lengths and back-of-length bowling. On surfaces with variation, that length can be very effective. But on flat wickets, it can be easier to score off. So it’s about quickly adapting to conditions and finding the right length for that surface,” he added.
With Delhi continuing their strong run in IPL 2026, their seam bowling has stood out as a major factor. T. Natarajan and Lungi Ngidi have led the wicket-taking charts for the side, collecting four wickets each. Mukesh Kumar, meanwhile, has been especially influential in the power-play, taking two wickets across two matches while holding an economy rate of 7.16.
