New Delhi: The showpiece match of the 2026 Indian Premier League is expected to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 31, with the match schedule for the knockout phase also shaping up around late May.

The playoffs are set to be hosted in Mullanpur and Dharamsala, before the tournament culminates in Ahmedabad for the final on May 31.
The choice of Ahmedabad for the title match is a departure from the usual pattern where the final is played at the venue linked to the reigning champions. Under that convention, the 2026 final would have been expected to be staged at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the home ground of last year’s champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
