IPL 2026 Final Shifts to Ahmedabad from Bengaluru After BCCI Decision

The venue for the IPL 2026 final has been moved from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad. The BCCI said the change was made due to “certain requirements” raised by the local association and authorities that were outside the board’s existing guidelines and procedures.

Although the title clash is set for May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the knockout stage will be split across different locations. Qualifier 1 will take place at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on May 26.

The Eliminator is scheduled for May 27 at the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. Qualifier 2 follows on May 29 at the same venue.

The BCCI added that, due to operational and logistical factors, the TATA IPL 2026 playoffs will be staged across three grounds this season as a special case. The board framed the move as necessary to accommodate circumstances that fell beyond its standard framework.

In IPL 2025, the knockout rounds were held in two venues. New Chandigarh hosted Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, while Ahmedabad staged Qualifier 2 and the final.
