Cameron Green described the feeling of standing at the non-striker’s end during Finn Allen’s match-defining hundred against Delhi Capitals as one of those rare career moments that doesn’t come often. Allen struck an unbeaten century to power Kolkata Knight Riders to their fourth consecutive win in IPL 2026 on Friday, chasing 143 with 14.2 overs to spare and winning by eight wickets.
Allen’s unbeaten century lifts KKR to a fourth straight victory
Finn Allen finished on 100 not out off 47 balls, steering KKR through the chase with a commanding mix of boundary power and control. His innings included 10 sixes and five fours, and he arrived at the crease after scoring 110 runs across six matches earlier this season.
- KKR chased a target of 143 and reached it in 14.2 overs.
- Kolkata won by eight wickets, extending their winning run to four straight matches.

Green’s perspective: “You only get that chance a handful of times”
After the game, Green heaped praise on Allen’s innings and explained what it meant to be on the other end when a batter is rolling. Green said the opportunity to experience it firsthand is limited across a career.
Green’s words captured the moment: “So special. I think you only get the chance to be at the other end a handful of times in your career, so that’s one of them.”
Green also shed light on what went on between him and Allen during the middle overs. He said there wasn’t much conversation beyond the immediate tactical focus.
Green added, “Nothing really. I think, Finn, all he said was, ‘see you next over.’ So, yeah, that’s basically what I tried to do. I was just the other end playing second fiddle.”
Keeping the strike and doing the sums
Green further explained how he helped manage the chase when Allen was closing in on his century. With Allen on 94 and KKR nearing the finish line, Green made sure their set batter stayed on strike.
“I think I did the math when we had 29 to get. So yeah, I knew I’d be the most hated man in Kolkata if I did anything else apart from that,” Green said.
When asked whether he was the one running the calculations, Green clarified that he was, while also giving credit to Allen for his own awareness.
“No, not us. I was, I did the math. But no, Finn’s very good at maths as well, so I’ll give him credit for that. So, probably, he was probably doing the same. Winning, that’s been the most satisfying,” Green said.
Delhi’s total set on a slow pitch; Allen’s run-out scare
Earlier in the match, Delhi Capitals were held to 142/8 on a slow surface despite a promising start. Pathum Nissanka contributed a fluent 50 and KL Rahul added 23, with the pair combining for 49 runs in the first five overs.
