Amber Kainat Set for Zimbabwe T20I Call-Up in Karachi Series

Pakistan have named uncapped pace bowler Amber Kainat in their squad for an upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, with all games scheduled to be played in Karachi. Kainat is among the two uncapped players in the 15-woman group led by Fatima Sana, with Saira Jabeen being the other. Jabeen has kept her place after travelling to South Africa in February.

Kainat’s inclusion follows a strong run in the recently completed National Women’s T20 Tournament, where she turned in an impressive wicket haul for the Invincibles. Across eight matches in the competition, she claimed 11 wickets, helping push her case for international selection.

The composition of Pakistan’s squad is mostly similar to the side that went to South Africa, though Sidra Amin is a notable absentee from the main team. Amin is instead listed among the five reserves for this series, along with pacer Diana Baig. Off-spinner Rameen Shamim returns to the squad after recovering from an injury that had ruled her out of the South Africa tour. Umm-e-Hani, who had replaced Shamim during that earlier trip, has now been left out, as has Humna Bilal.

The opening T20I is slated for May 12, followed by the remaining fixtures on May 14 and May 15. The National Stadium Karachi will host all three matches.
