In Jaipur, Yashasvi Jaiswal made his captaincy debut for Rajasthan Royals and, after winning the toss, opted to put Gujarat Titans into bat. The match saw RR also shuffle their XI due to a fresh injury and a couple of selection calls, while GT stuck largely with the core that has carried them through a recent run of success.
Jaiswal arrived in the all-pink kit and took over the reins in place of Riyan Parag. Parag is sidelined with a hamstring problem, sustained during the eight-day window since Rajasthan’s previous outing against Delhi Capitals, a game in which he struck 90 off 50 deliveries.
To cover Parag’s absence, RR brought Shimron Hetmyer back into the batting order, aiming to strengthen their middle phase. Meanwhile, Nandre Burger, who has been out of form, was dropped. Across his 10 appearances this season, Burger has a strike of 37.33 with an economy rate of 10.33. Dasun Shanaka, the Sri Lanka allrounder, comes in as Burger’s replacement and will play only his second match of the campaign. Yash Raj Punja also features as the third change, with Ravi Bishnoi kept on the bench even though Rajasthan are bowling first. For the chase, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is expected to operate as the substitute and opener.
Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, made just one alteration and kept their lineup stable. Prasidh Krishna is the named Impact Sub for the toss, with Gill selecting him ahead of the game. Krishna is set to replace Manav Suthar, who conceded 27 runs in the single over he bowled against Punjab Kings in their previous fixture.
