After Monday’s match, the Orange and Purple Cap standings at IPL 2026 saw only modest movement, but a few key performances still reshuffled the order. Here’s a quick snapshot of where things stand.
Orange Cap leaderboard
Delhi Capitals secured a vital win over Punjab Kings, keeping their playoff hopes firmly in play. In the chase of 211, KL Rahul may not have delivered the impact he would have wanted, finishing with 9 runs from 8 balls. Still, that contribution was enough to move him from third place to second on the season’s run-getters list. Rahul now has 477 runs across 12 innings, striking at 177.98.
With Sunrisers Hyderabad set to face Gujarat Titans on Tuesday, Rahul’s spot is not guaranteed. Abhishek Sharma (475) and Shubman Gill (462) are close behind and could overtake him if the next round goes their way. At the top, Heinrich Klaasen leads the chart with 494 runs from 11 innings, a strike rate of 157.32, and he too has an opportunity to extend his advantage.
Purple Cap leaderboard
Bhuvneshwar Kumar continues to anchor the Purple Cap race. The back-to-back winner in 2016 and 2017 has not shown any signs of fading, even at 36, and despite spending much of the season away from the spotlight. If anything, his rhythm appears to be improving. His figures of 4 for 23 against Mumbai Indians (MI)—in a match that ended with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) claiming a dramatic win—were his sixth three-wicket haul of the campaign. It was also his first four-wicket haul, taking his overall tally to 21.
He also needed a standout performance to remain on top after Kagiso Rabada reached 18 wickets on Saturday. Earlier on Sunday, in the day game, Anshul Kamboj picked up two wickets for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), moving his season total to 19 and briefly putting him ahead.
