CSK vs GT IPL 2026 Fixtures Shift: Ahmedabad to Chennai (and back)

Venues for the two IPL 2026 clashes between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) have been switched.

The opening meeting, originally set for a 3:30pm start in Ahmedabad on April 26, will now take place in Chennai at the same 3:30pm time. The second encounter, which was scheduled for a 7:30pm start in Chennai on May 21, has been moved to Ahmedabad and will begin at 7:30pm.

The league stated that the change was prompted by “municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat” on April 26.

In the current standings, GT sit fifth with a record of two wins and two defeats from four matches, while CSK are placed ninth after managing just one victory in the same number of games. Across eight previous IPL meetings between the sides, the head-to-head is evenly balanced at 4-4. Their most recent IPL meeting came in 2025, when CSK defeated GT by 63 runs in Ahmedabad.

CSK and GT both have Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next fixture. CSK will host KKR on Tuesday, whereas GT will face them in Ahmedabad on April 17.
