Hardik Pandya to report to BCCI CoE on June 2 before Afghanistan ODIs

India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya is scheduled to report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru on June 2. The 32-year-old is expected to spend more than a week at the facility as he works his way back into the national setup, before linking up with India’s ODI squad for the series against Afghanistan on June 11. Pandya last featured in the format during the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand in March 2025.

Pandya was included in the ODI group announced on May 19, though his availability was marked “subject to fitness clearance.” During the run-up to his CoE stint, the BCCI medical team is understood to have asked both Rohit Sharma and Pandya to report to the Bengaluru centre; however, there remains no confirmed update on whether Rohit will follow the same schedule at this stage.

Over the next week, Pandya is expected to complete a structured plan that includes fitness sessions and match-simulation work to sharpen his match readiness. At the same time, India’s Test team has begun training in Mullanpur.

India’s Test squad will kick off their first session ahead of the one-off Test versus Afghanistan in Mullanpur starting June 6. The session is scheduled for the afternoon, running from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, while Afghanistan’s corresponding training window is set for the morning, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

There is also a chance that the Test camp could see a late addition, with the selectors potentially bringing Auqib Nabi into the group. The motivation behind any such move is not clear yet, but Nabi is likely to train with the squad during the course of this week if selected.
