IPL 2026 Points: Orange Cap Race Led by Rizvi, Bishnoi Tops Purple Cap

With the IPL 2026 season having already moved on past two matches for every side—while Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have played three apiece—this is a timely moment to check the day-to-day Orange Cap and Purple Cap standings. Here’s where the leading performers currently sit.

Orange Cap leaderboard

At the top of the run-scoring chart is a name that feels slightly unexpected, with Sameer Rizvi leading the way. After posting 51 runs in IPL 2024 and 121 in IPL 2025, he has made a fast start this season as well.

Rizvi, who turns out for Delhi Capitals (DC) as their No. 4, has been central to two successful chases. In both matches he batted in the pursuit and helped secure victory for his team—first against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), where he struck 70 not out off 47 balls, and then versus Mumbai Indians (MI), scoring 90 from 51 deliveries. Those two knockouts have also earned him the Player of the Match award on each occasion, putting him among the early front-runners in the race.

Just below Rizvi’s current total of 160 runs is Heinrich Klaasen, who has 145 runs for SRH, though across three innings. Klaasen has looked in rhythm whenever he has walked out, registering scores of 31, 52, and 62, for a combined strike rate of 48.33. Following closely behind at 113 runs is Rohit Sharma, MI’s key figure with 113 runs from two innings, including a 78 made off 38 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Three additional batters have already crossed the 100-run threshold: Devdutt Padikkal from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) with 111, Cooper Connolly of Punjab Kings (PBKS) with 108, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi from KKR on 103.

Purple Cap leaderboard

Ravi Bishnoi is leading the wicket-taking standings at this stage. His spell of 4 wickets for 41 helped Rajasthan Royals (RR) secure a win over Gujarat Titans (GT). It has also been a notable phase for four-wicket hauls, with only two such instances recorded so far—Bishnoi’s four-for and Blessing Muzarabani’s matching figures of 4 for 41 against SRH. With that impact, Bishnoi currently holds the Purple Cap.

Behind him, the other bowlers in the early wicket conversation are PBKS’ Vijaykumar Vyshak, RCB’s Jacob Duffy, and CSK’s Anshul Kamboj—each bringing pace and early penetration to their respective sides.
