Jadeja Celebrates POTM After LSG Win, Credits Wife Rivaba for Confidence

Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja said he was delighted after his showing against Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday, describing the evening as a “good feeling” after helping his side secure victory and then receiving the Player of the Match award. Jadeja dedicated the honour to his wife, Rivaba Jadeja, who he said had told him the previous day that he would perform well.

Jadeja’s thoughts after the win

  1. Jadeja said the surface was challenging for batting because there was noticeable movement off the pitch, so he focused on staying in at the crease and building his innings.
  2. On his bowling, he noted that the ball appeared to be holding a little, which allowed him to vary his pace and stay effective.
  3. He added that he expected Nicholas Pooran to look for attacking opportunities, and he used different deliveries and variations to keep the batter under pressure.
  4. Jadeja also explained his mindset during the spell, saying he aimed to bowl in a way that would keep Pooran thinking, while mixing his pace so the batter couldn’t settle.
  5. He concluded by reiterating that the wicket wasn’t straightforward due to swing and seam, and that his plan was to play longer and make the most of the conditions.

Jadeja’s match-winning contribution came with both bat and ball. He made 43 runs off 29 deliveries and also took a crucial wicket as Rajasthan Royals defended their position comfortably. Rajasthan won by 40 runs, with their bowlers maintaining control throughout the chase.

Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger spearheaded the bowling effort after Rajasthan ended a two-match losing streak. Jadeja’s all-round impact earned him the Player of the Match award for his performance with both bat and ball.

In the points table, the win lifted Rajasthan Royals to second place, collecting 10 points from seven matches. Lucknow Super Giants, meanwhile, remained in ninth position.
