KKR Confirm Angkrish Raghuvanshi Out of IPL 2026 After Concussion, Finger Fracture

Kolkata Knight Riders have ruled wicket-keeper batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi out of the rest of IPL 2026 after he suffered a concussion along with a fracture to his left finger. The setback was confirmed by the franchise in a statement released on Friday, with KKR scheduled to play a must-win match against Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens just two days later.

Quick facts

  • Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026.
  • The injury includes a concussion and a left finger fracture.
  • He picked up the problem during KKR’s home win over Mumbai Indians on May 20.
  • KKR’s next crucial fixture is against Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens.
  • Raghuvanshi is KKR’s leading run-scorer in IPL 2026 with 422 runs.

Raghuvanshi had kept wickets during the match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday, May 20. During the 11th over of the MI innings, he collided with teammate Varun Chakaravarthy as both went for a catch aimed at removing Tilak Varma.

The incident forced both players to fall after Chakaravarthy couldn’t hold the catch. Soon after, in the 14th over, Tilak was dismissed, and Raghuvanshi immediately left the field with Tejasvi Dahiya taking over as the substitute wicket-keeper.

Raghuvanshi later had to be taken out of the contest for concussion-related reasons. Dahiya stepped in again for the remainder, and KKR went on to secure a comfortable four-wicket victory.

Impact on KKR’s campaign

At 21 years old, Raghuvanshi has been KKR’s most productive batter so far in IPL 2026. He has amassed 422 runs at an average of 42.2, striking at 146.52, including five half-centuries.

KKR’s timing couldn’t be tougher, with the injury coming just before their final game against Delhi Capitals. They will need to win that match, while also relying on other results to fall in their favour in order to reach the playoffs.
