KKR Surge in IPL 2026: Bowling Sparks 4 Straight Wins, Finn Allen Ton

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have injected fresh life into their IPL 2026 play-off campaign, delivering a major momentum boost with a standout bowling display against Delhi Capitals and, on Friday, an explosive one-day-style burst from Finn Allen in the form of a century. The franchise’s emphatic eight-wicket win over Delhi not only lifted their points tally but also helped sharpen their rhythm as the league phase moves toward its final stretch. After a difficult start to the season, KKR have now strung together an unbeaten run across their last four matches. With only four games remaining before the IPL 2026 league stage concludes, the side currently sitting 7th has genuine reasons to believe they can climb into the top four.

How KKR Can Reach the IPL 2026 Play-offs

Ajinkya Rahane’s team’s clearest path is to keep the winning momentum going. In the 10-team structure, reaching 16 points is typically enough to secure a play-off berth. There is, however, an extra twist in KKR’s case: a washout earlier in the tournament against Punjab Kings (PBKS) has left them with an additional point. That means they could potentially finish the league with 17 points if they handle the remaining games successfully.

To get to that mark, KKR would need to win all four of their fixtures left in the season. Landing on 17 points would almost certainly place them in the top four, reducing the need to lean heavily on complex Net Run Rate (NRR) scenarios.

The schedule ahead is far from simple. Over their next four matches, KKR are set to play Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Gujarat Titans (GT), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Delhi Capitals (DC). The challenge becomes immediate if they slip up even once. If KKR lose one encounter, the maximum total they can reach becomes 15 points. That figure could still be enough to qualify, but it also raises the possibility of a points tie with other teams, making NRR a bigger factor.

Historically, KKR’s NRR has not been favourable, but the huge victory over Delhi—where they chased 143 in just 14.2 overs—has begun to improve their standing. Their current NRR is -0.169.

If KKR do end up qualifying on 15 points, they will likely need results from games involving RCB, GT, and SRH to fall in their favour—ensuring no more than three teams finish above them in the table.
