IPL 2026’s Orange and Purple Cap races have thrown up fresh names at the top, with the weekend’s action in the double-header delivering key swings in both batting and bowling charts. Here’s where the tables stand at the end of Saturday’s games.
Orange Cap: Heinrich Klaasen moves back on top
Shubman Gill had taken the Orange Cap on Friday night, surpassing Virat Kohli. However, Kohli had a chance to reclaim it on Saturday and missed out. Instead, Heinrich Klaasen seized the moment, scoring 59 off 39 balls as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by ten runs in Hyderabad.
Klaasen is now leading the batting race with 283 runs for the season, a meaningful margin over Gill, who sits on 251 despite having played two fewer innings. Virat Kohli remains third in the standings with 247 runs.
Rajat Patidar, Kohli’s captain at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is next in line just behind the top trio. Patidar’s outing included a rare off-day against Delhi Capitals (DC), yet he still has 230 runs.
- Ishan Kishan (SRH) has reached the 200-run mark.
- Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer (PBKS) are both in the 200s.
- Phil Salt (RCB) has also made it into the 200-run bracket.
- Ayush Mhatre (CSK) is among those on 200+ runs.
- Jos Buttler (GT) has crossed 200.
- Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (RR) is another batter who has reached the 200s.
Purple Cap: Anshul Kamboj takes over after 3-for vs SRH
The Purple Cap situation has also changed hands. Prasidh Krishna is not currently in the top spot, with the lead now held by Anshul Kamboj. The CSK fast bowler produced a standout performance around the wicket against SRH on Saturday, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs.
Kamboj has 13 wickets from four bowling innings and is leading the wicket-taking charts as a result of that match-turning spell.
Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Krishna is placed second with 11 wickets from five games. He is followed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the RCB seamer, who also claimed three wickets on Saturday to take his season tally to ten.
- Anshul Kamboj (CSK): 13 wickets from four bowling innings (3/22 vs SRH).
- Prasidh Krishna (GT): 11 wickets from five matches.
- Bhuvneshwar Kumar (RCB): 10 wickets after taking three on Saturday.
