Kohli climbs to No. 3 as Orange and Purple Cap charts see fresh shake-ups

IPL 2026’s orange- and purple-cap standings are never static, and Wednesday delivered yet another shake-up across the run and wicket charts.

Orange Cap leaderboard

Virat Kohli struck his ninth century in the league to power Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s successful chase of 193 against Kolkata Knight Riders in Raipur. The knock lifted him to third place in the season’s run-scoring race.

Kohli has amassed 484 runs from 12 innings at a strike rate of 165.75. That total puts him just behind B Sai Sudharsan (501) and Heinrich Klaasen (508).

In the places below, Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad has 481 runs, while KL Rahul of Delhi Capitals (DC) sits on 477. Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill follows with 467.

Purple Cap leaderboard

Bhuvneshwar Kumar—who won the Purple Cap in 2016 and 2017—has widened the gap over Kagiso Rabada, the Purple Cap winner from 2020. With figures of 1 wicket for 34 runs against KKR, Bhuvneshwar now leads on 21 wickets, one more than Rabada.

Chasing the leading pair are Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with 19 wickets. Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rashid Khan of Gujarat Titans (GT) are next, alongside KKR’s Kartik Tyagi and SRH’s Eshan Malinga—each of them having taken 16 wickets.
