PBKS Set for BCCI Advisory Talk With Arshdeep on Vlog Content

Punjab Kings have not yet made any official request to Arshdeep Singh to stop sharing vlog and reel content on his Instagram account, despite recent reports suggesting otherwise. The franchise is understood to plan a direct conversation with its players on Saturday evening, with Arshdeep specifically in the loop, to ensure they follow the latest advisory issued by the BCCI.

What the BCCI advisory changes for IPL personnel

The India pacer and Punjab Kings speedster has built a sizable following on Instagram, with more than six million followers, and is known for regularly uploading reels that have gained significant attention online. That popularity has reportedly drawn the attention of BCCI officials and franchise management, prompting the board’s latest set of guidelines for IPL participants.

Under the new approach, content is expected to be created and shared only through the franchise’s official digital channels. Punjab Kings are also set to conduct a meeting with the squad on Saturday evening, scheduled after practice at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, where players will be asked to sign documents confirming they will comply with the updated instructions.

How the franchise’s meeting will be handled

  1. Punjab Kings have not yet formally asked Arshdeep Singh to stop posting vlogs or reels on his Instagram.
  2. The franchise plans to communicate with the players on Saturday evening, including Arshdeep, to seek compliance with the BCCI advisory.
  3. Arshdeep has been an active vlogger on Instagram, with over six million followers, and has regularly posted reels that have been widely popular on social media.
  4. Going forward, videos are expected to be produced and posted only via Punjab Kings’ official handles.
  5. Punjab Kings will hold a meeting with the squad on Saturday evening after practice at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala and obtain signatures confirming adherence to the guidelines.
  6. A co-owner was initially expected to address the group, but a flight diversion prevented travel to Dharamsala.
  7. Punjab Kings CEO Satish Menon will now deliver the formal briefing and request the players’ commitment to the directives.

BCCI’s compliance timeline and accountability

The BCCI has issued a broad set of do’s and don’ts for IPL players, support staff, managers, franchise officials and owners. The advisory covers a range of topics, including how teams interact with guests, rules around granting access to team hotels, smoking and vaping regulations, display of accreditation cards, and adherence to PMOA-related guidelines, among other matters.

Per the directive, each franchise’s team manager must organise a squad meeting within 48 hours of receiving the instructions. Punjab Kings’ scheduled session on Saturday evening is positioned to fall within that timeframe.

The advisory also makes clear that the team manager and/or the authorised representative from the franchise will be held “jointly and severally responsible” for ensuring full compliance. It further instructs managers to hold a mandatory team briefing within 48 hours, communicate the contents to all players and support staff, and secure written acknowledgement from each individual confirming receipt and understanding of the directives.
