Punjab Kings batter Prabhsimran Singh turned heads by going shirtless, posting images that highlighted his physique after rumours circulated that he had added 10 kilograms in just seven days. The attention around his transformation grew alongside fresh chatter about the franchise’s sudden slump, with multiple reports in the previous two days pointing to alleged indiscipline inside the camp.
These claims suggested that Punjab’s four-match losing run was linked to players supposedly spending nights gaming and missing training sessions, a narrative that placed their campaign in the 2026 Indian Premier League in jeopardy. The franchise had begun the season strongly, collecting six victories and one no-result early on, before losing momentum.
On Wednesday morning, Punjab Kings and co-owner Preity Zinta rejected the allegations outright, releasing a firm statement dismissing the reports as baseless. Prabhsimran, however, did not stop at the franchise response—he took a further step by sharing a picture that appeared to have been taken at Bhagsu Nag waterfall in Dharamsala, where he showcased a toned look.
Prabhsimran also added a “shush” emoji to the post, a gesture that echoed the firm stance taken by Punjab Kings and Zinta. The message landed as Punjab fought to steady their season.
Currently placed fourth in the points table for IPL 2026, Punjab Kings still have six wins from 11 matches and remain in the playoff mix, though the race is tightening. After a sluggish stretch, Sunrisers Hyderabad have regained momentum and climbed to third. Gujarat Titans, sitting at the top with eight wins and four defeats, lead the standings, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru right behind them in second.
During this brief dip in form, Prabhsimran urged supporters not to lose faith and to continue backing the team. In a message aimed directly at fans, he said, “Sat Sri Akal, Sher Squad! I’m speaking to you from Dharamsala. We’ve certainly lost four matches, but we’re still fourth on the table, and we’ll make sure to qualify and lift the trophy. I can only say that your support is very important to us. Support us and turn Dharamsala red. The next match is against Mumbai; we have to win it and make a comeback from there. We will lift the trophy. Support us; your support is very much needed.”
This season, Prabhsimran has registered four half-centuries. They include a 51 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, an unbeaten 80 versus Mumbai Indians, a 76 against Delhi Capitals, and a 59 in the match against Rajasthan Royals. Since those knocks, though, he has not produced another major score as Punjab have struggled to build consistency.
At 25, Prabhsimran is widely viewed as one of the standout emerging talents of the ongoing IPL season, with attention also on other contenders for the Orange Cap race such as Abhishek Sharma, KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
