Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) cruised to a six-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) on Wednesday night in IPL 2026, with their batting doing most of the damage. The result reshuffled the Orange Cap standings, while the Purple Cap race also produced a new leading wicket-taker.

Orange Cap
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had held the Orange Cap heading into the game, having become the first batter this season to reach 400 runs. But SRH’s top order made sure the lead didn’t last, with two of their batters moving beyond him before the night was out.
Abhishek Sharma, who struck 45 off 24 deliveries, and Heinrich Klaasen, unbeaten on 65 from 30 balls, now sit at the top of the chart. Abhishek has 425 runs, while Klaasen has 414.
Sooryavanshi has dropped to third with 400 runs. He is followed by KL Rahul of Delhi Capitals (DC) and Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), with only those two also having cleared the 350-run mark so far, and seven more batters beyond 300.
Purple Cap
Eshan Malinga has been one of the standout performers of the campaign, and he added another strong contribution against MI. He finished with 1 for 29, keeping his economy at 7.25 during an MI innings that managed a scoring rate of 12.15.
The wicket he took came when Suryakumar Yadav fell to him. With that effort, Malinga has opened up space at the top, leading the wicket table with 15 scalps.
Behind him is Bhuvneshwar Kumar of RCB, along with Jofra Archer for RR and Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), all sitting on 14 wickets each. In the next bracket are Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kagiso Rabada of Gujarat Titans (GT), who have 13 wickets apiece.
