Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Tim David has received two demerit points after a Level 1 breach of the IPL code of conduct during RCB’s match against Mumbai Indians in Raipur on May 10. Under the league’s disciplinary system, David will face a one-match suspension if he earns a further demerit point.

It was not the only disciplinary action linked to the Raipur contest. David became the second member of the RCB camp to be penalised following the game versus Mumbai Indians.
RCB head coach Andy Flower received a separate fine of 15% of his applicable match fee. The breach was described as “use of an audible obscenity,” which was said to have occurred when Flower spoke aggressively with the fourth umpire.
On the field, RCB’s performance in the same fixture proved decisive. After defeating Mumbai Indians on Sunday, the franchise jumped to the summit of the standings.
With the win, RCB now sit on 14 points from 11 matches. They are level with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans on points, though the defending champions maintain the advantage through a superior net run-rate.
