Tim David Slapped With 30% Fine and 2 Demerit Points for Offensive Gesture

Royal Challengers Bengaluru all-rounder Tim David has received a fine equal to 30% of his match fee and has also been handed two demerit points for violating Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct. The incident was categorised under an offence involving “a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting.” The penalty was applied after David’s actions during an emotionally charged finish in RCB’s opening match in Raipur, where the franchise secured a last-ball victory over Mumbai Indians. David accepted the charge, admitted the breach, and agreed to the punishment set out by match referee Amit Sharma.
