Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been rewriting the IPL record book at an almost daily pace, and the latest milestone underlines just how quickly he is stacking up achievements. Already recognised as the fastest Indian to a century in the tournament, and also the only player to strike two IPL hundreds in fewer than 40 deliveries in total—by hitting a 35-ball ton versus Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026 and then a 36-ball century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the same season—Sooryavanshi added another world record on Saturday.
Facing Mohammed Siraj, the 15-year-old launched a six off the very first ball, immediately moving to the next landmark: the quickest route to 100 T20 sixes. He reached the feat in just 514 balls, becoming both the fastest player overall to get there and the youngest to touch the 100-sixer mark in T20 cricket.
Sooryavanshi’s knock featured a total of 36 runs from 16 deliveries. His innings came with three sixes and three fours, with all three sixes arriving during the powerplay phase. That timing has also left him holding the IPL seasonal record for the most powerplay sixes in a single season.
