Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Smashes Milestone as RR Beat Lucknow at Ekana

Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his rapid rise in the Indian Premier League on Wednesday, scripting a run of landmark achievements during RR’s clash with Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Although the left-handed batter did not produce a big, headline-grabbing innings, his contribution was crucial enough to carry him past the 500-run mark in the tournament and set multiple new IPL milestones. In the end, Rajasthan posted enough to secure a 40-run win, while Lucknow extended a difficult stretch with their fourth straight loss.

Sooryavanshi’s milestone run

  1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi struck during the match against Lucknow Super Giants as Rajasthan’s innings progressed, using the platform to move into major record territory.
  2. He reached 500 IPL runs in the tournament, becoming the fastest batter to hit that total.
  3. Sooryavanshi achieved the 500-run milestone in just 227 balls, beating Glenn Maxwell’s previous benchmark of 260 deliveries.

Sooryavanshi’s ascent has been swift since his entry into the league. He made his IPL debut last year when he was only 15 years old, receiving an opportunity after Sanju Samson was sidelined. The southpaw made the most of that opening, scoring 252 runs for Rajasthan Royals across seven matches in his debut season. This time around, he has added 254 runs in seven games, continuing to build momentum with every outing.
