Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Mother’s Day tribute as RR backs Pink Promise campaign

Rajasthan Royals batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi marked Mother’s Day with a moving tribute to his mother, ahead of his side’s clash against Gujarat Titans. The youngster used the occasion to link personal gratitude with RR’s wider community push, with the franchise spotlighting women-led change and sustainable development across rural Rajasthan under its “Pink Promise” campaign.

Pink Promise comes to life for RR vs GT

  1. Sooryavanshi shared the tribute on Instagram ahead of the match, framing it as a special dedication as part of RR’s “Pink Promise” initiative.
  2. In the game against Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals players wore distinctive all-pink playing kits as part of the campaign’s message and outreach.
  3. In his caption, Sooryavanshi wrote, “This one’s for you, Maa,” tying the Mother’s Day sentiment directly to the initiative.

Speaking about the initiative, Alok Chitre, Chief Operating Officer of Rajasthan Royals, said the “Pink Promise” has evolved into a meaningful movement over the years, where the sport is used to drive good beyond the boundaries. He noted that the programme has delivered measurable outcomes on the ground, adding that in 2024 it helped power 260 homes, before expanding to more than 520 homes in 2025. Chitre also said the franchise is determined to build on that progress as another season begins, with a continued focus on women-led transformation.

Sooryavanshi’s IPL momentum and impact vs Gujarat Titans

On the field, Sooryavanshi is enjoying a breakthrough run in the ongoing IPL season. The 15-year-old has appeared in 11 matches in IPL 2026 and has amassed 440 runs, including one century and two dozen-plus contributions in the form of 50-plus scores—specifically, one hundred and two half-centuries. He is currently Rajasthan Royals’ leading run-scorer for the season.

  1. Against Gujarat Titans, Sooryavanshi provided RR with a flying start during the chase of 230.
  2. He struck at a rapid pace, making 36 runs from only 16 deliveries, featuring three fours and three sixes, which kept his team within range for a period.
  3. When he came in to face Mohammed Siraj, Sooryavanshi attacked immediately, dispatching the very first ball he faced for a huge six over long-on.
  4. Siraj later responded and managed to gain control of the contest, ultimately having the final say in the duel.

Even though he was dismissed early, Sooryavanshi’s power-hitting continued to make headlines. In the process, he scripted a landmark moment in men’s T20 cricket by becoming the fastest and youngest player to reach 100 sixes, achieving the feat in just 29 innings.
