Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli was spotted with a bandage wrapped around his leg during a training session in Bengaluru ahead of RCB’s Indian Premier League clash against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday. A video shared by LSG on social media showed Kohli meeting members of the Lucknow setup, including Kane Williamson—who serves in the support staff—and LSG captain Rishabh Pant, with the bandage clearly visible.
The sighting has come at a time when there have been circulating reports of a possible leg or ankle concern for Kohli. Even so, the Bengaluru session also included evidence of him continuing to work on his batting in the nets.
Kohli’s IPL 2026 form and the lead-in to the LSG match
- In the IPL 2026 campaign so far, Kohli has played four matches and amassed 179 runs at an average of 59.66.
- His strike rate in those games stands at 162.72.
- Kohli has struck two fifties, with a best score of 69 not out.
- In RCB’s previous outing against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians, he made 50 off 38 balls, striking five fours and one six, although it did not look like his most fluent performance.
RCB’s turnaround before the match at Bengaluru
After suffering a setback against Rajasthan Royals, RCB returned to winning ways with an 18-run victory over Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The win was driven by three major contributions in the batting powerplay to the death phase, with Phil Salt smashing 78 off 36 deliveries (six fours and six sixes), Kohli producing a 50 off 38 balls (five fours and a six), and Rajat Patidar striking 53 off 20 balls (four boundaries and five maximums).
RCB finished their innings on 240/4. Mumbai Indians, despite a late surge from Sherfane Rutherford, fell short by 18 runs and were restricted to 222/5. Rutherford’s effort was a 71 not out off 31 balls, laced with nine sixes and a four.
It was also notable that Kohli did not take the field during that Mumbai Indians match and was seen seated out while wearing a jacket.
