With the dust settling on a demanding IPL-2026 campaign, India\u2019s selectors are set to focus heavily on workload and recovery when they gather in Guwahati on Tuesday. The meeting will determine the squads for next month\u2019s one-off Test and a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. Given the tight international schedule coming up after the IPL, managing the minutes and intensity of key performers\u2014particularly the frontline quicks\u2014is expected to be a central theme.<\/p>\n

Series dates and venues<\/h2>\n

  1. The one-off Test, which does not count towards the World Test Championship cycle, is scheduled to be played in New Chandigarh from June 6 to June 10.<\/li>\n
  2. The first ODI will take place in Dharamshala on June 14.<\/li>\n
  3. The second ODI is set for Lucknow on June 17.<\/li>\n
  4. The third ODI will be held in Chennai on June 20.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Workload management likely to shape selection<\/h2>\n

    Lucknow Super Giants\u2019 pace options Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan have put themselves in contention after productive IPL-2026 stints. Alongside them, selectors may also look at Jammu and Kashmir seamer Auqib Nabi as they balance form with fitness for the limited-overs assignments.<\/p>\n

    One key topic expected to come up at the meeting is how to manage the workload of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. If either of them is rested for the ODIs, Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan could be viewed as viable replacements. So far, there has reportedly been no request from any player seeking a rest, meaning the final call will likely rely on the fitness record and current workload indicators.<\/p>\n

    The ODI series will also mark the return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to the India setup.
