It was purportedly dated June 25, 1983\u2014the same evening India stunned West Indies at Lord\u2019s to secure their first-ever Cricket World Cup title.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The receipt was said to be from London\u2019s Grosvenor Hotel and dated June 25, 1983.<\/li>\n<li>It appeared to list premium items including Mo\u00ebt champagne, steak dinners, whiskey, beer, and Dunhill cigarettes.<\/li>\n<li>The total on the invoice was claimed to be \u00a3764.<\/li>\n<li>To boost its credibility, the document included a bold signature resembling Kapil Dev\u2019s autograph, which helped the post gain traction online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Kirti Azad\u2019s clarification on the celebrations<\/h2>\n<p>Azad moved quickly to shut down the rumour. In his post, he insisted that India did not celebrate at the Grosvenor Hotel after the World Cup win, and he pointed to the Westmoreland Hotel\u2014located near Lord\u2019s\u2014as the venue for the celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>Azad also alleged that the Kapil Dev signature seen on the viral document is fake.
