The England and Wales Cricket Board later confirmed that Bethell will travel back to the UK for further medical evaluation. In a statement, the ECB said it has agreed with Royal Challengers Bengaluru that the top-order batter will return home after sustaining a left ring finger injury while playing in the IPL.<\/p>\n
The ECB also stated that England\u2019s medical staff will keep a close watch on Bethell once he arrives, before deciding on his participation in the Lord\u2019s Test. The board added that he will be assessed and monitored by the England Men\u2019s medical team on his return to determine his suitability for selection for the Rothesay first Test against New Zealand, starting Thursday, June 4.<\/p>\n
