Arjun Tendulkar, son of India great Sachin Tendulkar, marked a memorable return to the IPL spotlight as he made his debut for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026 on Saturday\u2014and promptly claimed his first wicket of the season. The left-arm pacer struck in a crucial moment, delivering a precise yorker to send Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh back to the pavilion, with the batter trapped lbw on the delivery in his third over.<\/p>\n

  1. Arjun Tendulkar began his spell with an early chance to strike, dismissing Prabhsimran\u2019s wicket opportunity being missed when Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant failed to hold a simple catch off a short ball.<\/li>\n
  2. In his third over, Tendulkar finally made the breakthrough, landing an \u201cinch-perfect\u201d yorker to remove Prabhsimran Singh lbw.<\/li>\n
  3. Despite the wicket landing on the final ball of the 15th over, Punjab Kings were already well positioned in their chase of 197 and continued on their way toward victory.<\/li>\n
  4. Rather than celebrate wildly, Tendulkar kept things restrained, exchanging high-fives with teammates after the dismissal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Tendulkar\u2019s debut wicket arrived after a near miss in his opening over, but the impact still stood out\u2014especially given the match context. Even with Lucknow in a losing position, the 26-year-old offered a steady edge with the ball, finishing with figures of 1\/36 from his four overs.<\/p>\n

    Lucknow also gave Tendulkar a late opportunity with the bat, and he contributed 5 runs from as many balls. The outing underscored that, while the result didn\u2019t go their way, his start in the tournament had plenty of positives.<\/p>\n

    For Tendulkar, the match also carried extra significance off the field. He was traded to Lucknow ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, marking the first time he joined a franchise other than Mumbai Indians, where his father Sachin played for six seasons.<\/p>\n

    Punjab Kings finish strongly<\/h2>\n

    Punjab Kings ultimately held their nerve to beat Lucknow and keep their playoff picture alive. Their chase was anchored by captain Shreyas Iyer, who produced a match-defining unbeaten 101, steering his side to the target with two overs remaining.<\/p>\n

    The win ended Punjab Kings\u2019 run of six consecutive defeats and lifted them to 15 points, powered by their seventh victory of the IPL 2026 campaign.
