With that in mind, the most watchable duel is likely to be Shubman Gill and Phil Salt looking to unsettle Hazlewood and Siraj in slightly different ways. Even if batters are trying to innovate, there is little reason for either franchise to abandon the broad strategy both have relied on: fast bowlers leading the charge with disciplined, good-length deliveries. Salt\u2019s record against Rabada and Siraj is strong in terms of strike rate, but he has also been dismissed twice by each of them while scoring under 50 in those innings.<\/p>\n
As the contest moves toward the middle overs, the matchup picture tightens. Rashid Khan may enjoy favourable match-ups against Padikkal, Tim David and Krunal Pandya, but for GT the most significant threat in that phase is Rajat Patidar. That is why GT could consider leveraging Rabada\u2019s fourth over as a critical moment to test RCB\u2019s batting structure. In the data so far, Rabada has bowled 24 balls to Patidar for 17 runs with no wickets yet\u2014suggesting the batter has handled the deliveries well, but not necessarily at the cost of risk.<\/p>\n
GT\u2019s decision on the Impact Player could hinge on how they view Patidar\u2019s specific weaknesses.
