Jurel said the franchise played with intent and \u201cpositive\u201d mindset across the season, even though it ultimately wasn\u2019t enough to reach the title match.<\/p>\n

Qualifier 2: Rajasthan\u2019s run ends after defeat<\/h2>\n

  1. Rajasthan Royals posted 214\/6 in Qualifier 2 at New Chandigarh.<\/li>\n
  2. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a standout knock of 96 to help RR reach a competitive total.<\/li>\n
  3. Gujarat Titans then chased the target successfully, driven by Shubman Gill\u2019s unbeaten-style impact of 104.<\/li>\n
  4. The win meant GT earned a spot in the next stage of the tournament and set up a final against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru.<\/li>\n
  5. The title clash is scheduled for Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Speaking after the campaign, Jurel also highlighted how RR\u2019s approach never changed, stressing that the team consistently tried to play attacking cricket despite coming up short at the final hurdle.<\/p>\n

    Leadership from behind the stumps<\/h2>\n

    Jurel, who has been one of Rajasthan\u2019s reliable top-order options, explained his role as wicket-keeper in shaping bowler confidence. He said he generally doesn\u2019t instruct bowlers on what exact lines and lengths to try, instead encouraging them to trust their preparation.<\/p>\n

    He revealed that when speaking with bowlers\u2014particularly those making their debut\u2014his message is simple: take your time, you belong here, and don\u2019t overcomplicate plans. In his view, telling a newcomer precisely how to bowl can create doubt and lead to avoidable errors, so the emphasis is on belief rather than micromanagement.<\/p>\n

    From the stumps, Jurel said he tries to reinforce that the thoughts the bowler has are valid, and that they should not be distracted by what might go wrong. \u201cWe have to play good cricket,\u201d he added, while reiterating that Rajasthan\u2019s season was built on positivity.<\/p>\n

    Dhruv Jurel\u2019s batting routine and extra practice<\/h2>\n

    With the bat, Jurel described how much he values time in the nets and how he constantly finds ways to extend his preparation sessions. He said he keeps asking batting coach Vikram Rathour for more net time, but the coach\u2019s response is often no. So Jurel adapts by adding his own extra work whenever training allows.<\/p>\n

    Jurel said he arrives early and begins batting around 20 minutes before the official session starts. When others take their turn, he requests additional time\u2014first for 10 more minutes, and then for five more once that window ends. The key, he explained, is to keep batting without losing momentum.<\/p>\n

    He also shared a habit that helps him maintain continuity: after his allocated time finishes, he removes his pads but leaves them in the nets, so that if there is a break later, he can immediately return to batting. He added that Rathour is aware he won\u2019t stop, which is why the coach sometimes asks him to come out so that other batters get their turn.<\/p>\n

    Jurel said he wants to walk into matches without feeling under-prepared, and that his approach is driven by his love for batting.<\/p>\n

    How he paces his innings in T20 cricket<\/h2>\n

    Jurel further outlined his philosophy for managing his innings in modern T20s. He said when he takes guard, he first settles and reads the match situation rather than rushing. He looks at how the ball is behaving off the wicket, assesses what a par total could be on that pitch, and if Rajasthan is chasing, he evaluates what the required run rate demands.<\/p>\n

    He said he doesn\u2019t force his tempo and instead adjusts his batting based on what the situation needs. With Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi often at the other end, Jurel described his job as staying alongside them, rotating strike, and holding one end steady so the partnership can grow.<\/p>\n

    His stated aim is to build long partnerships by playing around those batters and keeping the scoreboard moving.<\/p>\n

    Mindset, communication, and next assignment<\/h2>\n

    After this IPL chapter, Jurel is set to join the India Test team for the one-off match against Afghanistan on June 6, following a short break. He credited positive communication in the dressing room as a key factor in helping him thrive.<\/p>\n

    Jurel said he always wants people to keep talking to him before he goes out to bat. He believes even a simple, normal conversation can help feed constructive thoughts into his mind. When someone shares something with him prior to his innings, he said it stays with him and becomes part of the mindset he carries into the middle.<\/p>\n
