As the IPL 2026 final approached, Gill was asked about Sooryavanshi and offered high praise for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener. Parag said it was inspiring to watch how much Sooryavanshi developed in his second season, noting that his batting was far more than brute force. \u201cI can\u2019t really put it in words. There\u2019s one way where you just go and slog and then you get a lot of runs. But the way he\u2019s batted, it\u2019s not just slogging. It\u2019s not blind slogging. Parag went on to emphasise that Sooryavanshi seems to execute nearly everything correctly, even if others struggle to fully explain how he does it. \u201cHe does literally everything well.
