The batter had provided a key late spark in RCB\u2019s chase of 156, striking 24 runs off 17 balls and helping the side recover from a shaky moment when they were down to 91\/4.<\/p>\n<p>At one stage, RCB looked set to miss the target, but David joined Virat Kohli and the pair stitched together a vital 41-run stand. David drove the partnership with three boundaries and a six, turning pressure into a platform for the chase.<\/p>\n<h3>Quick facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Tim David has been suspended for one match after an incident involving umpire Nitin Menon.<\/li>\n<li>He scored 24 off 17 balls in RCB\u2019s chase of 156, including three fours and a six.<\/li>\n<li>The offence occurred in the 10th over of Gujarat Titans\u2019 innings at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.<\/li>\n<li>David was fined 50% of his match fee and received two Demerit Points.<\/li>\n<li>This was his third Level 1 offence of the season, bringing his total to five Demerit Points.<\/li>\n<li>He will miss RCB\u2019s opening game of the next IPL season, or the first match for his franchise in IPL 2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The suspension stems from what happened in the 10th over of Gujarat Titans\u2019 innings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. During that phase of the match, David threw an ice bag aggressively toward umpire Nitin Menon.<\/p>\n<p>The IPL disciplinary process has concluded that the act breached the league\u2019s Code of Conduct. David was charged under Article 2.9, which covers throwing a ball or other cricket equipment\u2014such as a water bottle\u2014at or near players, officials, umpires, the match referee, or any third person in an unsafe or unsuitable manner during the game.<\/p>\n<p>David accepted responsibility for the incident. He admitted the offence and agreed to the sanction delivered by the match referee, Javagal Srinath.<\/p>\n<h3>Sanctions and demerit trail<\/h3>\n<p>Along with the suspension, David was fined 50% of his match fee and was handed two Demerit Points for a Level 1 breach. The decision also means his disciplinary record for the season has moved further into suspension territory.<\/p>\n<p>The release notes that this was David\u2019s third Level 1 offence of the campaign. His first came in Match 20, costing him one Demerit Point, while his second occurred in Match 54, where he received two Demerit Points. With the latest two added, his total rose to five Demerit Points, triggering the one-game ban.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, David will not be available for RCB\u2019s first fixture of the next IPL season.
