Indian badminton icon PV Sindhu joined the celebrations after Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured back-to-back IPL glory, sending a heartfelt message to the franchise and its supporters on social media. Having spent recent years based in Bengaluru, Sindhu kicked off her Instagram post with a light-hearted tease that linked her relocation to the team\u2019s sudden run of success.<\/p>\n
In her caption, Sindhu joked that she wasn\u2019t claiming to be the \u201clucky charm,\u201d but noted that ever since she moved to the city, the trophy seemed to arrive for RCB year after year. \u201cRCB fans, I am not saying I am the lucky charm. But I moved to Bangalore and suddenly you have won the trophy every year since. Do the maths. Huge congratulations to the incredible RCB team, the players, the staff, the ownership and the fans,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n
Sindhu also reflected on what the journey has meant for RCB\u2019s fanbase, describing the long wait that preceded the franchise becoming one of the leading sides in the competition. She used the moment to congratulate Ananya Birla and her family as well, recognising their entry into the ownership group ahead of RCB\u2019s latest title-winning campaign.<\/p>\n

The badminton star then admitted that she would have loved to see an IPL final featuring RCB against her hometown team, Sunrisers Hyderabad. While she acknowledged that an SRH versus RCB title clash would have been emotionally overwhelming, she still praised Bengaluru\u2019s triumph after years of disappointment. \u201cOf course, a Hyderabad vs RCB final would have been the dream. SRH vs RCB would have emotionally destroyed all of us in the best way. But Bangalore, you deserved this. After years of heartbreak. Back-to-back champions,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Outside cricket, Sindhu\u2019s own tournament run concluded at the Singapore Open, where she was eliminated in the quarter-finals. She lost to the world No. 1, An Se-young.
