Rohit suffered a hamstring injury during the IPL and was named for the ODIs, with his availability dependent on medical clearance.<\/p>\n<p>A close watcher of the developments said Rohit will spend three days at the Bengaluru facility, with a structured schedule of sessions. The programme includes batting practice under lights at one of the grounds. After the fitness work in Bengaluru, he is set to join the India squad in Dharamshala on June 11, giving him a two-day buffer before the first ODI on June 13.<\/p>\n<h3>Quick facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Rohit Sharma will report to the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru on June 8.<\/li>\n<li>The fitness stint is expected to last three days, with multiple training sessions.<\/li>\n<li>He is scheduled to join India in Dharamshala on June 11.<\/li>\n<li>The first ODI vs Afghanistan is on June 13.<\/li>\n<li>Rohit missed several IPL matches due to a hamstring injury.<\/li>\n<li>He played for Mumbai Indians as an \u2018Impact Player\u2019 during the IPL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The hamstring issue also affected his IPL campaign, with Rohit missing a number of matches before returning in the tournament setup as an \u2018Impact Player\u2019 for Mumbai Indians. His ODI call-up has remained tied to the outcome of the fitness assessment at the CoE.<\/p>\n<h3>Hamstring setback for Kohli<\/h3>\n<p>Alongside Rohit\u2019s situation, reports suggest star batter Virat Kohli is also unlikely to be fit for the immediate future. Kohli, who picked up a hamstring injury during the IPL 2026, is learnt to be facing a layoff of at least six weeks.<\/p>\n<p>That timeline would rule him out of the Afghanistan ODI series and may also complicate his chances of featuring in the three-match ODI leg in England. The England series is scheduled to begin on July 14 in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>Details shared around the injury indicate Kohli has a hamstring tear and does not require surgery. The recovery window is estimated at around six weeks, during which rehabilitation work will be carried out at the BCCI\u2019s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Kohli reportedly had a tele-consultation with renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr Dinshaw Pardiwalla at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, who reviewed his MRI
