Praful Hinge<\/b> was one of the standout performers. The 24-year-old right-arm seamer comes from Vidarbha and earned a place in their senior red-ball setup during the 2024\/25 Ranji Trophy. So far in his career, he has played 10 games, though his experience in the shortest format is comparatively limited. His only previous T20 match came in the 2025\/26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he opened the bowling alongside Umesh Yadav and struck by taking the wicket of Andhra captain Ricky Bhui.<\/p>\n
SRH brought Hinge into the squad for INR 30 lakh, matching his base price. His story began early: he started cricket at the age of 13 after persuading his father to allow him to join a cricket academy. Known for generating movement off the pitch, Hinge has also dealt with a back issue in the past. After the match, he credited the support staff, saying he owes his improved condition to the physiotherapy team at the MRF Pace Academy, where he worked on recovery last year.<\/p>\n
At the academy, Hinge has been linked with training under the influence of Australia great Glenn McGrath. He has also spoken of receiving guidance from Varun Aaron, SRH\u2019s pace bowling coach. Soon after his Ranji debut in 2024, Hinge returned to action for Vidarbha Under-23s in the One-Day Cup, where he finished as their third-leading wicket-taker.<\/p>\n
His rise in the T20 ecosystem gathered momentum too. During the 2025 Vidarbha Pro T20 League, he emerged as one of the key performers, collecting eight wickets in six matches at an average of 25.75. He kept his strike pressure steady with an economy below 9, and his contribution helped NECO Master Blaster win the title. Speaking after his IPL debut, Hinge shared that he had already imagined the moment: \u201cLast year, I had written it somewhere that I will take four or five wickets on my debut.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sakib Hussain<\/b> shared the new-ball duties with Hinge. Hussain entered the contest as an Impact Sub for Travis Head. SRH secured him for INR 30 lakh, again at his base price. Two years earlier, he had been bought by KKR for INR 20 lakh, but he did not get an opportunity to play. Hussain is from Gopalganj in Bihar, and his father \u2014 a farmer \u2014 has been the family\u2019s main breadwinner.<\/p>\n
Hussain had ambitions to join the army, but circumstances steered him toward cricket instead. He was pushed into playing local tennis-ball matches, and once his career began to take off, financial pressures increased. At one stage, his mother even sold her jewellery to help him purchase his first pair of spikes.<\/p>\n
So far, the 21-year-old has represented Bihar in both first-class and T20 cricket. He made his senior debut during the 2022\/23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Even at 17, his start had rough edges: he conceded 27 runs in two overs. However, he responded strongly and was a highlight in their final match of that season, taking four wickets against Gujarat.<\/p>\n
After that breakthrough, he was called up as a nets bowler for CSK. As a teenager, he was given another chance in the 2024\/25 SMAT, but he struggled for wickets, finishing wicketless in four of his five games. In the most recent SMAT edition, his output improved, as he ended with five wickets at 29.6.<\/p>\n
While he continues to find consistency in red-ball cricket, Hussain has shown he can still raise his game in longer spells. In the 2024\/25 Ranji Trophy, he impressed in a match against Punjab by taking four wickets in what turned into a heavy innings defeat. Last year, against Arunachal Pradesh, he produced a ten-wicket haul across the match.<\/p>\n
With IPL debuts that will be remembered for a long time, Hinge and Hussain\u2019s paths have now started to mirror each other \u2014 from early setbacks and academy grind to big-stage breakthroughs.
