One of the biggest talking points has been Cameron Green, bought for a record fee of Rs 25.20 crore to fill the void created by Andre Russell\u2019s absence. So far, though, the Australian all-rounder has not been able to justify that price tag. Across five innings, he has mustered only 56 runs, and when he has been cleared to bowl, his impact has remained limited.<\/p>\n
KKR\u2019s batting order has also raised eyebrows. In their chase of 193, Sunil Narine was promoted to open, while Rahane\u2014who has posted his best strike rate during the powerplay\u2014was pushed down to number three. Neither adjustment delivered the desired outcome, and KKR ended up posting 160\/7 against CSK. Meanwhile, there is additional domestic firepower sitting unused, with Manish Pandey, Rahul Tripathi and Sarthak Ranjan all still warming the bench.<\/p>\n
To revive their season, KKR now need something close to a turnaround in all departments, starting with clearer tactics. One storyline that the franchise could look to for inspiration is Mumbai Indians\u2019 2015 comeback, when they went on to win the title after losing five of their first six matches. That kind of momentum shift is rare, but it is the sort of precedent KKR will be hoping to emulate.<\/p>\n
Gujarat Titans, meanwhile, also carry a sense of unfinished business at home, having not yet won in their current home venue\u2014losing their only earlier match there to Rajasthan Royals. However, they have responded strongly since then with two away victories that have boosted morale. Their bowling unit has appeared more settled, with Prasidh Krishna providing reliable spells in both the middle overs and the death, while Rashid Khan has rediscovered his rhythm.<\/p>\n
With Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler back among the runs, Gujarat Titans head into this matchup with a more balanced look and greater confidence than they had earlier in the season. For KKR, it sets up a challenge that will demand immediate improvements, while for Gujarat, it offers an opportunity to build on their recent confidence and press further into the tournament\u2019s rhythm.<\/p>\n
