The night was shaped by Abhishek Sharma\u2019s breathtaking batting for Delhi, followed by sharp performances from Sunrisers Hyderabad, with former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin later taking aim at Delhi captain Axar Patel\u2019s tactical choices.<\/p>\n

Delhi Capitals set the pace by compiling their highest total of IPL 2026, reaching 242 runs. The innings was driven by Abhishek Sharma, who remained unbeaten on 135 and faced the full allocation, batting through all 20 overs to anchor the team\u2019s charge.<\/p>\n

However, despite the imposing total, Sunrisers Hyderabad responded with a strong showing to keep the chase under control and ultimately secure the result with plenty of margin.<\/p>\n

Sunrisers Hyderabad carried their momentum forward with a decisive 47-run win. Abhishek Sharma\u2019s earlier fireworks were met by an even more impactful batting display from SRH, led by a 68-ball masterclass that featured ten fours and ten sixes.<\/p>\n

Travis Head contributed 37, while Heinrich Klaasen finished on 37 not out, helping Sunrisers Hyderabad post 242\/2, putting Delhi under immediate pressure in the chase.<\/p>\n

    Ashwin highlighted that Rana bowled his full four-over spell, conceding 55 runs, while Delhi\u2019s frontline spinners were used for only two overs apiece. Kuldeep Yadav finished with figures of 1\/23 in his two overs, and Axar Patel gave away 30 runs without taking a wicket.<\/p>\n

    Pointing to the imbalance in the bowling workload, Ashwin said that in Delhi\u2019s attack\u2014featuring Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Lungi, Mukesh, and Natarajan\u2014the first player to complete the full quota was Rana, which he argued was the match\u2019s turning point.<\/p>\n

    \u201cIn DC’s bowling attack, they have Axar Patel, Kuldeep, Lungi, Mukesh, and Natarajan. But the first player to complete his 4-over quota was Nitish Rana, and that’s where they lost the match.     He further questioned the rationale behind leaning on a part-time option despite having multiple specialist bowlers available. \u201cConceding 50 runs in four overs is not a big deal, but if you have five regular bowlers, why did you go for a part-timer?\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
