Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed that pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman will not be released for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League. The board said it has withdrawn his No-objection certificate on medical grounds, ending his PSL 2026 participation with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

Earlier reporting had indicated that Mustafizur\u2019s NOC had been granted in two separate windows: from March 26 to April 12, and then again from April 24 to May 3. The understanding was that he would feature in the ODI set-up alone against New Zealand, rather than taking part in the T20 matches. Mustafizur, however, had missed the opening two encounters of the three-match ODI series due to injury before returning to the playing XI for the deciding ODI.<\/p>\n

In that series finale, Mustafizur made a notable impact with a five-wicket haul. But after the third ODI against New Zealand concluded, the BCB moved to reassess his condition and take action regarding his availability for franchise duties in the PSL, where he is part of Lahore Qalandars.<\/p>\n

BCB\u2019s update and the NOC withdrawal<\/h2>\n

  1. The BCB said that after the conclusion of the third ODI versus New Zealand, its medical staff reviewed Mustafizur Rahman\u2019s condition.<\/li>\n
  2. The board stated that Mustafizur will undergo an immediate scan to further evaluate his fitness.<\/li>\n
  3. Following the assessment, he is expected to begin a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB Medical Team.<\/li>\n
  4. As a result of the medical review, the BCB withdrew the No-objection Certificate that had previously been issued to Mustafizur.<\/li>\n
  5. The board added that he will therefore not be available for the remainder of PSL 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Alongside Mustafizur\u2019s case, the BCB also said it would not release fast bowler Nahid Rana for PSL 2026. The board\u2019s rationale was to give Rana sufficient time to prepare for an upcoming Test series against Pakistan scheduled for next month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
