After Gujarat Titans came up short in defending 206 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gill pointed to missed opportunities and uneven bowling as decisive factors. In particular, he referenced the early let-off of Kohli on zero, stressing how difficult such moments can be for fielders. However, Gill also underlined that the real test is how a team reacts after setbacks, adding that Titans had their spells but could not consistently land the right length on a surface that offered its own challenges.<\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, when a batsman is dropped on nought, it\u2019s always tough on the fielder, but I think it\u2019s important how you come back in the game. With the ball, we had our moments, but we weren\u2019t able to hit the length ball consistently, which was at times difficult to hit on this wicket. And you know, some balls here and there\u2014overall, they batted brilliantly in the middle overs,\u201d Gill said at the toss.<\/p>\n
Gill also explained that despite Sai Sudharsan\u2019s outstanding century, Gujarat Titans ended up a touch short on the Bengaluru deck, finishing their innings on 205\/3 in 20 overs. He felt the side lost momentum late in the innings, especially between the 16th and 19th overs, when boundaries proved hard to come by and the run rate slipped. That pressure-building phase, he suggested, played a major role in how the game moved against them.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, definitely. I think from 16 till 19, those three overs we couldn\u2019t get any boundaries and we didn\u2019t get as many runs as we would have liked. I think those three overs were very crucial for us,\u201d Gill added.<\/p>\n
Gill further discussed Sudharsan\u2019s match-defining hundred, noting how the opener\u2019s mindset had been shaped by disappointments in the previous fixtures. He highlighted that the frustration from earlier dismissals stayed with the batter, and that energy translated into a strong return at the crease.<\/p>\n
