Rohit Sharma\u2019s availability for Mumbai Indians\u2019 next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad is still uncertain. The India batter has missed Mumbai\u2019s previous three games due to a hamstring problem, and even now he has not been given a full green light to take his place in the XI, with a report indicating his fitness status remains under question.<\/p>\n
Rohit picked up the injury during Mumbai\u2019s contest against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 12. While batting, he began to show early signs of discomfort in his hamstring, called for the physio, and received treatment on the field. However, the discomfort worsened, and he had to walk off in the following over. He did not return to the crease, and Mumbai went on to lose the match heavily.<\/p>\n
Per a report, Rohit has been working hard in the nets and has batted extensively during practice. That said, the team\u2019s approach is expected to remain cautious\u2014there is unlikely to be any risk taken unless he is completely fit and cleared to play.<\/p>\n
\u201cRohit, who has been sidelined since April 12, continues to be a doubtful starter for the Wankhede encounter. While there has been some positive movement with the former captain batting extensively in the nets, the team management will not take chances unless he is fully fit,\u201d the report added.<\/p>\n
Rohit was also present at Mumbai\u2019s training session at the Wankhede Stadium. With two support staff members accompanying him, he completed light warm-up work and running drills, then spent time speaking at length before eventually leaving the ground. Notably, he did not take part in any batting practice during that session.<\/p>\n
After Mumbai\u2019s squad went on a two-day trip to Jamnagar, the players returned and went straight into net sessions. Those sessions included Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma as well, though Rohit\u2019s participation against SRH still hangs in the balance.<\/p>\n
On match eve, Suryakumar Yadav was the first to take to the nets, working earlier than Mumbai\u2019s scheduled training time of 6pm.
