Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins believes T20 cricket is moving into a more punishing phase for bowlers, saying even scores close to 250 are no longer a guarantee of safety. In the IPL, sides are repeatedly chasing 200-plus totals with ease, and the pressure on the bowling unit has only intensified. Cummins also feels this season has taken the batter-friendly trend further, with hitters showing far less hesitation and going at bowlers from the opening ball. He pointed to SRH\u2019s own performance on Wednesday, when they chased a 244-run target against a prominent Mumbai Indians bowling lineup with eight balls to spare to claim a convincing win.<\/p>\n

Cummins on why matches are swinging more than ever<\/h2>\n

When asked whether he feels for bowlers during this run-heavy stretch, Cummins struck a balance between humour and realism. He suggested that while the margin for error is shrinking, a single moment of precision can still decide the outcome.<\/p>\n

  1. Cummins said that in high-scoring contests, there is \u201cnot a lot in it\u201d for the bowling side.<\/li>\n
  2. He added that even late in a chase, executing one outstanding delivery\u2014such as a well-placed yorker\u2014can still be the difference between winning and losing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    He then underlined the continuing value of top-quality bowling, arguing that good bowlers can still make a substantial impact despite the overall scoring environment. Cummins highlighted Eshan Malinga as a major reason for SRH\u2019s success, noting that the player has also earned the purple cap.<\/p>\n

      SRH completed the successful chase with eight deliveries remaining, but Mumbai Indians speedster Jasprit Bumrah had a tough outing. He conceded 54 runs across his four overs and finished wicketless, yet SRH\u2019s batters maintained their momentum and made the target look achievable throughout.<\/p>\n

      After the match, SRH praised their batting group for a fearless brand of cricket and encouraged them to keep the same aggressive mindset. Cummins specifically pointed to the variety that the openers can bring when the surface suits batting.<\/p>\n
