Hussey said CSK\u2019s ideal plan is to identify an XI or a slightly flexible group of 11 to 12 players who feel comfortable and then allow those players to grow into clearly defined roles. This long-term approach is also being reflected in CSK\u2019s decision to continue backing 20-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Kartik Sharma despite a difficult start. In his first five matches, he has endured a lean run, failing to provide the kind of returns expected early on.<\/p>\n
Still, Hussey believes Kartik is close to turning the corner. He expressed confidence that one more game could be the breakthrough moment, insisting that Kartik has the talent to establish himself at CSK for years. Hussey further noted that Kartik is ambitious and eager to perform, adding that the franchise wants to give him as much opportunity as possible and watch him develop into his role within the squad.<\/p>\n
