Ticket fever for the Indian Premier League is nothing new, but one Bengaluru tech professional learned how quickly the excitement can turn into a costly trap. After tickets for an RCB versus CSK match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium sold out, the scramble for passes reportedly pushed some fans toward illegal channels\u2014including claims of offers being made for \u201cblack\u201d tickets. In this case, a 25-year-old software worker ended up losing a huge amount, allegedly after being duped through a fraudulent Instagram post.<\/p>\n

How the alleged ticket scam unfolded<\/h2>\n

  1. The complainant, a resident of B Narayanapura, said he was contacted by a fraudster who presented himself as a ticket supplier on Instagram.<\/li>\n
  2. In his complaint to Mahadevapura Police, the techie alleged that the person\u2014who claimed to be Sumit Biswal\u2014offered to arrange IPL match tickets alongside food vouchers.<\/li>\n
  3. The complainant further alleged that Biswal introduced himself as a senior supervisor connected to the ticket counter at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.<\/li>\n
  4. According to the complainant, Biswal asked him to come near stadium gate number 10 and promised that the tickets would be delivered within minutes.<\/li>\n
  5. To build trust, the fraudster also allegedly sent an email confirmation, as stated by the complainant.<\/li>\n
  6. The techie said he initially agreed to purchase two tickets priced at Rs 3,700 each.<\/li>\n
  7. He then claimed that the accused kept requesting additional money through different justifications, including refundable security deposits, extra ID cards, and food coupons.<\/li>\n
  8. As he trusted the assurances and made repeated payments\u2014reportedly even using his mother\u2019s bank account after his personal limits were exhausted\u2014he said the total transferred amount reached around Rs 1.46 lakh.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    RCB vs CSK: RCB secure a 43-run win<\/h2>\n

    While the off-field incident grabbed attention, action on the field went the way of Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they registered a 43-run victory over Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 2026 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.<\/p>\n

    RCB\u2019s triumph was driven by a strong batting display that dismantled CSK\u2019s bowling attack. Tim David struck a brilliant 70 not out off just 25 balls, Rajat Patidar followed with an unbeaten 48 off 19 deliveries, and Devdutt Padikkal played a fluent innings of 50 off 29 balls to lay the foundation for the chase-defying total.<\/p>\n

    With that momentum carrying through the innings, RCB finished on 250\/3, which also became the highest team total in IPL 2026. In response, CSK struggled under pressure and managed 207 all out in 19.4 overs, falling short despite a couple of notable contributions.<\/p>\n

    Sarfaraz Khan top-scored for CSK with 50 off 24 balls, while Prashant Veer made 43. Beyond those innings, the top order faltered repeatedly, leaving CSK chasing the game from an early stage.<\/p>\n

    On the bowling front, Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a disciplined spell of 3\/41. His performance, coming after RCB\u2019s batting fireworks, also marked a personal milestone as he crossed the 200-wicket mark in IPL history.
