The move comes after the National Sports Council dissolved the Aminul Islam-led set-up, citing misuse of power, and placed former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal as the interim head of the board with a mandate to conduct the upcoming election within the next 30 days.<\/p>\n<h2>Election process begins after BCB ad-hoc committee meeting<\/h2>\n<p>After the third meeting of the BCB Ad-hoc Committee held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday, the board confirmed that the election procedure had been initiated. BCB stated that the first step would be a formal notice calling for councillor nominations in line with its constitution.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BCB said it will soon publish a notice inviting nomination of councillors from all categories, referencing Article 12.7 of the BCB Constitution.<\/li>\n<li>The board approved the creation of a three-member Election Commission to oversee the next BCB election.<\/li>\n<li>The Election Commission will include one representative drawn from either the Ministry of Youth &amp; Sports or the National Sports Council (NSC), along with two members nominated by the BCB.<\/li>\n<li>BCB also announced it has decided to dissolve ad-hoc committees of Regional Cricket Associations, starting immediately.<\/li>\n<li>The ad-hoc committees of the Regional Cricket Associations of Chattogram, Sylhet and Barishal have been dissolved with immediate effect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tamim updates stadium redevelopment plans, including a national cricketers\u2019 lounge<\/h2>\n<p>Following the committee meeting, Tamim Iqbal went onto the main ground to brief those present on ongoing redevelopment work at the stadium. He highlighted a key part of the project: a dedicated lounge facility for national cricketers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tamim said the central purpose of the redevelopment is the construction of a proper lounge for national cricketers.<\/li>\n<li>He stated that the facility will be provided for roughly 170 to 180 players who have represented Bangladesh.<\/li>\n<li>He added that the divider currently in the middle of the seating area will be removed.<\/li>\n<li>According to Tamim, the existing seats will be renovated and reshaped into a balcony-style section similar to those seen in prominent stadiums worldwide.<\/li>\n<li>He said the lounge is expected to accommodate around 250 to 300 people.<\/li>\n<li>Tamim explained that the lounge will be reserved exclusively for national cricketers.<\/li>\n<li>He also noted that grills will be removed to ensure there is no obstruction to the view.<\/li>\n<li>He said this entire block will be dedicated to national cricketers, who currently do not have a suitable space like this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Recognition approach and access rules; Tamim to contest next election<\/h2>\n<p>Tamim also spoke about how recognition will be handled, stressing the need for careful thought when deciding who is honoured. He said the board is considering multiple formats\u2014ranging from home venues for home players to the national stadium for national team players\u2014along with recognition for those who have made significant contributions to Bangladesh cricket.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tamim said the board has to be careful about whom it honours, warning that if someone feels left out, it can create problems.<\/li>\n<li>He said the board is considering different recognition formats, including home players at home venues and national players at the national stadium.<\/li>\n<li>He added that the board will also recognise individuals who have contributed significantly to Bangladesh cricket.<\/li>\n<li>He said Bangladesh cricketers deserve this recognition and that it is not limited to batting or other averages and statistics.<\/li>\n<li>Tamim remarked that even a player with a low average may have delivered a major impact during their playing time, and that the responsibility is to honour such contributions properly.<\/li>\n<li>The Cricketers\u2019 Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) will also receive office space within the same setup.<\/li>\n<li>Access to the area will be controlled through designated cards issued only to national cricketers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tamim, who earlier introduced captains\u2019 cards to acknowledge the contributions of former and current
